Retro Jordan, The Nike Air Max 97 “Jesus Shoes” is a limited customization infused with holy water imagined by the Brooklyn-based MSCHF studio and INRI. Walk on water, quite literally, with the rare Air Max 97. Each shoe is filled with 60cc of holy water derived from the River Jordan and then blessed. Using a stark white layered leather upper, the “Jesus Shoes” feature nods to the Vatican with a steel crucifix covering the laces and Matthew 14:25 inscription on the toe. Further detailing includes dual MSCHF and INRI branding on either heel. Ruby red Frankincense-scented insoles further the “Jesus Shoes” theme.
Jordan Release 2020, The Olivia Kim x Nike Air Force 1 “No Cover” takes on the nightclub theme of the collection imagined by Nordstrom’s VP of Creative Projects. Including in part of a five design capsule, Kim dedicated each colorway to the sights, sounds, and people of the nightclub scene of the ’90s. The Air Force 1 “No Cover” specifically takes inspiration from New York City’s rave scene of the ’90s. A plush blue corduroy covers the entire upper including the mid-panel, toe, and eyelets. Contrasting lime green snake print Swoosh branding spans from the mid-panel to the heel with white Nike branding covering the heel. In keeping with the party vibes, Kim outfits the sole in glow-in-the-dark rubber, an homage to the late nights spent dancing the night away.
