Off-White x Air Jordan 5 to release sometime in February 2020
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 5, Virgil Abloh will continue his partnership with Nike/Jordan Brand into 2020 with an upcoming Off-White x Air Jordan 5 colorway. two exclusive Off-White x Air Jordan 5 colorways will be dropping to celebrate the momentous occasion. Imagery of both pairs have not leaked yet, however, a rendering of what to expect has been produced. One pair dons a tan-like finish, while the other is colored in white and grey, alongside signature Off-White elements such as “AIR” printed on the heel and red zip ties.
Retro Jordan, The 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5 is next year, and according to sources, The partnership between Off-White and Jordan Brand kicked off in 2017, featuring the launch of a remixed “Chicago” Air Jordan 1 as part of “The Ten” collection. Prototypes of collaborative Air Jordan 4s were also on display at Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibit at MCA Chicago, but the pairs never made it to production.
New Air Jordans 2019 will reportedly extend its celebrated partnership with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White label by releasing collaborative Air Jordan 5s next year. Inspired by the OG “Metallic” Air Jordan 5, this release features a Black textile mesh upper with Off-White’s signature “Shoelaces” branding on the laces along with its text on the inner netting side panel. 3M reflective tongues with a Fire Red Jumpman logo and “23” stitched on the heels atop an aged translucent outsole completes the design.
