By Shop Jordans 2022, Comme Des Garçons have been teasing an Air Foamposite One colab with Nike since their Autumn/Winter ’21 collection was unveiled in Tokyo this past January. One of these brand-adjacent individuals is KITH photographer Tyler ‘Arab Lincoln’ Mansour, who was recently gifted the white pair.COMME des GARÇONS has a long history of collaborating with Nike, spotlighting some of its most popular silhouettes and bringing some of its more niche sneakers out of the shadows.Over the years, we’ve seen the Dunk Low, Air Force 1 Mid, Air Carnivore, Air Max 95, Blazer Mid, and Shox TL get CDG makeovers.
This Nike Air Foamposite One gives us our best look yet at the upper’s mesmerizing moulded vortex patterns. Crafted by CDG’s HOMME PLUS sub-label, the altered upper brings fresh meaning to the Foamposite line – where the Air Foamposite’s original shell was inspired by a beetle, this new pattern delves more into the realm of zen gardens and their artful lines. These sneakers barely even scratch the surface of what CDG’s Nike arsenal looks like, making them one of the Swoosh’s most notable collaborators.Next in line for a CDG remix is the polarizing Air Foamposite One. The popularity of Foams has constantly fluctuated, from ultra hype to somewhat of a background contender.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Light Smoke Grey finds Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe in mid-top form in a shadowy, ultra versatile color scheme,Painted in the same grey and white colour palette as the Dior version, the Smoke Grey is crafted from various premium leather panels that are soft and smooth to the touch. Lateral and medial side Swoosh branding plays a prominent role, while the iconic winged basketball motif is delicately embossed onto the ankle. Moving downwards, you’ll find an Air midsole that’s made for both the street and the court, and this is then lined with a complementary grey rubber outsole just underneath, finalising the ultra clean design.
