Ultra Boost 2022, Mark “The Gonz” Gonzales and adidas have a relationship that spans decades. Having historically taking a liking to the company’s adidas Originals lineup, the American skater has recently lent his creative vision to the future-forward Ultraboost model. “It was exciting for me to take on the Ultraboost because people who skate like a comfy shoe when they’re not skating. I loved jumping rope in them,” Mark Gonzales said. “I put a lot of pencil work to create the circular design to get a good balance between the Boost and the art, so that both bases were covered.”
The upcoming adidas shoes don a generally-muted color palette across their upper and sole unit.the sneaker uses a Primeknit upper that features Gonz’s Shmoo graphic throughout the grey, navy, and teal sneaker. The external cage is seen in a translucent black that features the 3 Stripes with the external heel counter seen in black. Black is seen again on the cushy full-length Boost setup with a gum Continental rubber outsole finishing off the sneaker.Lastly, sole units underfoot are potentially inspired by some of “The Gonz”‘s favored skate shoe tooling setups given that black Boost midsoles are coupled with gum brown tread.
