As the nickname suggests, this is a colourway that literally goes for gold. This offering of the Nike Air Max 97 comes entirely decked out in Metallic Gold constructed in a mix of leather and mesh. Matching tonal branding, Black inner lining, 3M reflective detailing atop a translucent Golden-Gum outsole completes the design.
With the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo right around the corner, Nike Shoes is set to celebrate the occasion with an upcoming “Gold Medal” Air Max 97. Everything is gold, save for black lining and red heel branding. Even the outsole is tonally iced out. While the official inspiration behind this pair has yet to be revealed, the official images show that the show features a tonal gold patent leather on the upper, matching gold tongue, laces, heel tab and contrasted by a black sock liner. Capping off the look is a gold Air Max-cushioned midsole and a gum outsole.
