CW2190-100 Nike Kobe 6 Protro “POP” Coming Soon
Another original colorway of the Nike Kobe 6 is set for its second run in Protro form. Dubbed the “POP” aka “Playoff Pack”, this simple and straightforward colorway representing the home threads of the Lakers originally dropped in the early summer of 2011 during Kobe Bryant’s quest for a second career three-peat. The Lakers were unfortunately stopped short by the Dallas Mavericks, although losing to the eventual NBA champions was a bit of a consolation. The “POP” theme didn’t really last much longer than the VI, and even back then it was only given the moniker for its place in the release schedule as it coincided with the Playoffs. In fact, these simpler, understated colorways didn’t really stand up to the wild colors and concepts that the VI was known for, such as the “LA” Pack and even the oddball camouflage series.
Scaly textured upper halves of this Nike Kobe 6 Protro POP is mostly presented with a stark white background, and they come assembled with black accents that are dropped off on the side panel’s Swooshes, Kobe‘s signature logo on the tongues as well as the molds that cling to the heels. Alongside all of those features, “Del Sol” accents are integrated onto the interior liners as well as on Bean’s signature towards the backend to match up with his Lakers uniform.Zoom-cushioned midsoles are wrapped up with a black exterior and come mated with a two-toned outsole that splits between more yellow outers towards the forefoot and white exteriors towards the rear.
Arriving with a similar marbled pattern seen on the “MXT Moon Grey” Foam Runner, this adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 MX Rock is treated to a swirling weave of blacks, browns, and creams. Included is a strike of solid black on the lateral stripe, and it’s expected to arrive with liners, laces, and sole units of chocolate brown. All of this is reflected in the mock-ups below, based on the fabric sample pictured further on.Our Primeknit upper comes through in rich Chocolate. Although said to take inspiration from the Yeezy Foam Rnnr “MX Moon Grey,” the entire upper gives off a Rocky Road ice cream.
