The CT8529-106 Air Jordan 6 Carmine 2021 holds a special, albeit brief, moment in the annals of Air Jordan history. Arguably among the most audaciously color-blocked Air Jordans in history, this fearless rendition of the VI model gave the the traditional Bulls colors a bolder identity. It arrived at a perfect time, seeing how MJ and Bulls won their first NBA Championship that summer, so Jordan had to set foot on his first campaign as a defending champion in style. The “Carmine” colorway made its debut back in 1991, and was the first Air Jordan 6 to have colored panels on the upper. They returned in the Countdown Pack in 2008, followed by its most recent appearance in 2014.
For its 2020 retro, the Air Jordan 6 will look exactly like they did back in 1991 in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the silhouette. They’ll come complete with its OG height and “Nike Air” on the heels. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 6 in 2021, Jordan Brand will be bringing back the original “Carmine” Air Jordan 6. While the Air Jordan 6 is commonly associated for the first Championship season, the Carmine 6s didn’t appear on the court until the 1991-1992 season. Jordan opted for this colorway for most of the first-half of that season, permanently switching to the new Air Jordan 7 at the ’92 All-Star break. the Air Jordan 6 was hotly coveted for its design and scarcity, and it wasn’t until 2008 that Jordan Brand decided to reintroduce the shoes to the public as part of the storied Countdown Package series. It again dropped in 2014 as a standalone Retro. One of the most popular original colorways of the Air Jordan 6, Michael Jordan made this bold color block in white and red famous on court in 1991. The legendary Air Jordan 6 returned in 2014 as one of the biggest Air Jordan retro releases of the year, and disappeared even faster than its last release in the Countdown Pack collection in 2008.
