Air Max 270, The humble Air Force 1 has become the perfect baseline for Nike’s in-house design team to really test their flair. From 2018’s seven-piece set of reimagined designs for and by women, to something as audacious as the recently-revealed “Black Tie-Dye” rendition, its versatility speaks volumes. Always down for experimentation, the next release turns the staple sneaker into something of a conversation starter, with a glitchy “Pixel” Air Force 1 redefining the silhouette’s sleek lines and ever-iconic sole unit. After debuting in a clean triple white option, the pair has popped up in a slew of pastel-popped options, but this pair is the first to experiment with a new material: snakeskin.
The Nike Air Force 1 Pixel comes with a glitch design, hence the Pixel name. The Sail smooth leather base is matched by the chunky, pixelated midsole that gives the model its name. A beige-based snakeskin-printed swoosh and heel deliver a luxe, modern look. To further differentiate itself from its predecessor, it ditches the standard Nike Air Force Swoosh tongue label for a new logo that reads “AF” on the right shoe and “NIKE” on the other in a block-like font. The 3D theme is even embraced by the lace dubrae, which opts for a cubic shape instead of the classic AF1 plate.
Celebrating the Year of the Ox is this special edition Jordan 1 Low Chinese New Year , which is decorated with graphics of an ox throughout the “Bred”-like color blocking on the upper, while a red tassel is attached above the shoelaces. Keeping in tradition with the holiday, images reveal that the shoe also includes what looks to be a red envelope, but the contents within are currently unknown. The shoe also comes packaged in a decorative box with the aforementioned graphics covering the Nike branding throughout.
