555088-036 Air Jordan 1 High OG “Rebellionaire” Drop Information
For Shop Jordans 2022, There are many aspects of Michael Jordan‘s career that Jordan Brand can reference. And for the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG “Rebellionaire,” the Beaverton-based label does just that by saluting the archival “Banned” ad from 1985 that essentially called out the NBA from prohibiting #23 from rocking his signature kicks on-court because they went against the league’s dress code.In the commercial, the narrator is heard saying, ’Fortunately, the NBA can’t stop you from wearing them’ (referencing the Air Jordan 1 ‘Bred,’ although the true model banned was the Air Ship, but that’s another story).
In terms of its presentation, the lifestyle kicks take after the classic Air Jordan 1 High OG Shadow colorway as the toe boxes, ankle flaps, Swooshes and lower heel overlays are supplied with grey while the collars, quarters, tongues, ball-and-wings logos and overlays are done up in black. However, perhaps the most enticing elements of these AJ 1s are the extra decorations as the words “They Can’t Stop You From Wearing Them” — an exact phrase from the ad — are written out in repeating fashion across the upper along with red “X” hits on the heels to further speak to the aforementioned spot and really echo the “Banned” theme.
This Air Jordan 1 Low Navy Royal offers a monochromatic makeup, which we don’t see often on this silhouette.Made out of a couple shades of Blue, this colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Low starts off with a Navy leather base complimented by the Royal Blue hits on the overlays, tongue and insole branding. More hits of Navy Blue land on the laces, tongue, lining, outsole and branding. Completing the look are the Silver Swooshes and White midsole.
