130690-125 New Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” 2022
New Jordans Retro, The Air Jordan 12 features a White leather upper with Black textile leather overlays and outsole with Metallic Gold eyelets and a carbon fiber shank that references the Black and Yellow of NYC Taxi cabs. This pair remains true to the 22-year old OG with tumbled white leather across the upper, pebbled black leather overlays, minimal red and yellow hits, and gold eyelets. First retro’d in 2008’s Countdown Collection, the “Taxi” was also given the low-top treatment in 2011, and most recently returned in 2013 (shown below). The upper is a simple coloring of white and black, and red is used as an accent color. Gold is used for the eyelets, and it is a pair that is simple yet gives a sense of attention to detail. In addition, the upper design is said to be inspired by the rising sun flag, and the stitches are designed radially.

A light white is applied to many of the overlays, while the backwards Swoosh opts for the militaristic green. Other details includes Olive suede Swooshes, laces, and “Cactus Jack” tongue branding with Red accents on the “Nike Air” tongue branding and embroidered heels. A Sail midsole atop an Olive rubber outsole with graphic insoles completes the design. Like its predecessors, Cactus Jack branding also is skewed to the lateral side of the tongues. Underneath all of that, midsoles are dialed to a “Sail” hue while the outsoles are fitted in more olive.
